May 3rd, 2012 - Thursday night was a tough outing for Tyson as he entered the first night of the 10th Annual Scrapp Fox Memorial at Beebe Speedway (Beebe, Arkansas). His night would unfortunately end before it ever got started as going into turn one of his heat, something broke in the rear-end of the car causing him to spin. He would make hard contact with a yuke tire, which tore the rear deck out of the car, ending his night early. He has opted to not return for the second night of the event.
April 13th, 2012 - Friday night found Tyson in action at Beebe Speedway (Beebe, Arkansas) in a Weekly Racing Series Event. In his heat race he was running third, when an ill-executed slide job from a competitor saw Franks get spun out, resulting in him starting sixteenth in the feature. Despite starting deep in the grid for the main event he would mount a great charge through the field to a fifth place finish at the checkered flag. March 30th, 2012 - Tyson opened his 2012 season on Friday night at Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Arkansas) in a $1,000-to-win, K&N Filters Open Wheel Modified event at the 3/8 mile oval. With 26 entries on hand Franks started his night by qualifying sixth fastest to lock into the feature event in the sixth starting spot. Heavy rains during the week left the track extremely fast, but also extremely rough. Three laps into the feature bad luck would strike Franks as he hooked a rut and ripped the right-front brake line loose. With no brakes Tyson was forced to retire from the event. It was a disappointing end to the night because he felt like he had a car capable of a top three finish. He was credited with a 19th place finish. Full results are available at www.USCSRacing.com. December 12th, 2011 - The For Sale section has been updated with a car for sale. November 1st, 2011 - The Ironman Bodies section has been updated with photos of the body installed on Jake Neal's new car. October 17th, 2011 - The 2011 season is complete for Tyson Franks Racing. The team is currently assembling cars for new clients and is busily preparing to begin their season in January 2012 with the annual Ice Bowl at Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Alabama). The team would like to thank all of their fans and sponsors support for the 2011 season. See everyone in 2012! September 24th, 2011 - Tyson made the trip south to Drew County Speedway (Monticello, Arkansas) on Saturday night for the $2,000-to-win, Modified Madness event. Forty-six cars entered the program, and in time trials Franks battled a bad vibration to the 17th fastest time, which resulted in him starting sixth in his heat race. On a track that didn't lend itself to much passing, Franks would finish sixth in his heat, which resulted in him starting fifth in the b-main. In the b-main he quickly worked his way to the second spot, when bad luck struck as the leader broke a set of gears in front of Franks leaving him with nowhere to go. Tyson would make hard contact with the car resulting in a flat right front tire, which sent him pitside. Despite not qualifying for the feature via his heat or the b-main, an auction was held for the final starting spot, and Tyson was the high bidder. As a result he started 22nd on the grid before advancing to an 11th place finish. He would also receive a $600 bonus for passing more cars than anyone else in the feature! Full results are available at www.DrewCountySpeedway.us. September 18th, 2011 - Tyson intended to enter a pair of events over the weekend, but Mother Nature would nix both programs as the USCS Open Wheel Modified event at Beebe Speedway (Beebe, Arkansas) was rained out on Thursday evening and due to persistent rain the Casey's General USMTS event slated for West Plains Motor Speedway (West Plains, Missouri) was canceled as well. As a result, Franks didn't race anywhere. September 10th, 2011 - Tyson entered the Modified Madness event over the weekend at Northeast Arkansas Speedway (Harrisburg, Arkansas), and it would prove to be a frustrating outing for the team. On Friday night Tyson drew the third starting spot for his heat race. However, on the first lap Ryan Moore spun in front of Franks causing him to check up. The competitors behind Franks would not have time to slow and made hard contact with him causing heavy rearend damage, bringing his night to an early end. The team made wholesale repairs on the car for Saturday night, but Tyson would be forced to start 12th in the b-main. Despite starting at the back of the pack, he would rocket through the field to as high as the second spot before he began losing his brakes. He would slip to a fourth place finish in the b-main, which earned him the final transfer to the feature event, where he started in the 20th position. Despite starting at the tail of the field, he would race his way through the field to record a solid, seventh place finish. For his efforts he earned the Hard Charger Award. September 3rd, 2011 - Saturday night found Tyson once again in action at Northeast Arkansas Speedway (Harrisburg, Arkansas) in a Weekly Racing Series Event, which served as a tune-up for next weekend's $2,000-to-win special. Twenty-one entries were on hand for the event, and in heat race action Franks advanced from his fifth starting spot to a third place finish to lock into the seventh starting spot for the main event. Early in the feature, he would slip back to the tenth position as a car in front of him didn't fire. Over the remainder of the event he would regroup as he charged back through the pack to a fourth place finish behind race winner, Justin McBroom, Jeff Wells Jr., and Shannon Brack.
